So the Cascades Raptor Center is one of those Eugene things that I'd heard plenty of people mention but had never managed to visit myself. Well that all changed this month! My boys and I were thrilled to make it out there. You should go check it out too! Here's what you need to know:
The Essentials Parking: A small, free lot Food: None for purchase, but you can bring your own Cost: Adults - $8 Children under 12 - $5 or check the library (see above) Push/Wear: Wear that baby. The calories you'll burn from hauling him up the hills will totally justify that naptime handful of chocolate chips. Is that just me? Hmm. Restrooms: There are port-a-potties Time Frame: About an hour Resting/Nursing Spots: There are a few benches scattered around, as well as some picnic tables near the visitor's center Wave at all the birds for me! Happy Adventuring!

The cost has always been the biggest deterrent for us as well, so this year we bought a family membership. More money upfront, obviously, but you can transfer the card to your nanny, sitter, grandparent, etc. which is fantastic. We go SO much more now, definitely getting our money's worth. You get free guest passes along with it and we love supporting a great local business. Might be an option for other Mamas to look into.
